What is Medical Acupuncture?
Medical Acupuncture is based on scientific research.
Acupuncture stimulates the nerves in the skin, muscle and other tissues and can produce a variety of effects. Acupuncture has been shown to improve blood flow and promote healing locally as well as stimulate the release of the body's natural painkillers, including endorphins and serotonin, in the spinal cord and brain pathways. Acupuncture can help regulate an overactive central nervous system, and this modifies the way pain signals are received by the brain.
Acupuncture affects pain management as well as the nervous, digestive, urinary, hormonal, respiratory and reproductive systems.
