The sunshine vitamin!
We need Vitamin D for healthy bones and for general heart health. We absorb Vitamin D from sunlight and a small amount comes from our diets in dairy products or oily fish, and some cereals or ideally allow 20mins 3 times a week with the arms exposed to the elbow without sunscreen.
In winter our levels of vitamin D may decrease, and we can develop symptoms of pain and weakness.
The guidelines suggest taking a vitamin D supplement daily and you can purchase this from any pharmacy.
